San Francisco - Day Two

We decided to walk the Golden Gate Bridge today as it was overcast but not raining.  Yesterday was a very sunny day as we toured the city.
We walked for 15 minutes  to Fisherman's wharf and caught one of the trolley buses to the Golden Gate Bridge, yes we used our 3 day pass.

A very interesting part of town, 10 mins walk from our hotel

Enjoying the trolley bus

More Golden Gate Bridge

We prepared to walk it

Lots of cyclists on the bridge too

Very foggy and amazing

A short ... not ... walk to Sausalito - 3 kilometres from Golden Gate Bridge
Beautiful Buildings in Sausalito

Worth the walk

Cheeky Sea Lion statue

Gorgeous homes

And more

San Francisco - Day Three

We just loved San Francisco
Phoebe loves her daddy in Pat's Cafe - best eatery in town.

Phoebe loves her mum in the ferry on the way to Alcatraz

Alcatraz from the ferry

Kurt and Phoebe - both looking incredibly "cool"

Andy, Phoebe and Amanda on Alcatraz Island

Haunting buildings on Alcatraz

Kurt and Kerrie - cheesy grin time

Alcatraz

Watch Tower

Close the door and throw away the keys!

This is how 3 prisoners escaped - their bodies were never found

The view from inside Alcatraz to San Francisco city

From the exercise yard the prisoners could see San Francisco and hear the city.  A grim reminder that they could not go home

Many visitors to this attraction
Phoebe escaping Alcatraz, on the ferry home.

A gentlemen's club on Nob Hill, San Francisco

Grace Cathedral, San Fran

Beautiful Doors of Grace Cathedral

Amazing tapestry inside the cathedral

A memorial Aids quilt also inside the cathedral

Amanda and Kurt walking down Lombard Street, the most winding street in the world apparently

Yes it was very steep

Cars queue to drive down this street

The weather turned cool, so I converted one of my squares to a little hat for Phoebe

On the trolley bus in San Francisco

Still in Pat's cafe, we were regulars here
